It's one thing for a contemporary, Churchill to say that he admires his adversary's rise to power. To respect the power of your enemy, in so much as to inspire victory.

It's quite another thing to make a statement that you admire a man who history has shown to be the incarnation of evil. It's inflammatory, and this was the purpose of the statement. To draw attention. To be an opportunist. And to admire Hitler for his opportunism.

While his references to Hitler are disturbing, his treatment of women has been intolerable.
