Ted, what's logical here? Is the NFL a non profit, do good social organization, or a profit motivated operation?
The NFL is in the business of entertainment. Image is key. That's a motive for the execs to coerce teams into looking at more minority coaches and QBs.
You're evading the question. Please answer the question.
Think of a possible telephone conversation between Paul Tagliabue and an owner of a team. "Look, [so and so], I know you are looking for a coach who will bring you another Super Bowl championship. I'm just asking you to consider [insert name of black coach here]. He seems just as good as the guy you're considering now, don't you think?"
Why would the owner of the team agree to such a deal if he thinks it won't make money for his team. After all, he probably has investors to answer to. It doesn't make economic sense.
If you still don't believe this happens, check this out:

"NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue has responded to this situation with informal efforts to cajole team owners [into hiring more black coaches], but his efforts are far from adequate."
The operative word is "cajole" and apparently "cajoling" has not made for good results.
Clearly there is a vested interest out there to see more blacks in the NFL succeed in coaching positions. And in QB positions as well, I might add. Hence, it's not a stretch to think that the media will treat black QBs with a little more favor.
Sorry, Ten, but I am not convinced. I think there is nada honorable about Rush and he will do everything he can to bring down the media that excludes him because he is offensive and unkind.
Frankly, I hope his drug dealing silences him. He and Ann Coulter need to share a cell or at least some remote hotel room.
