We took a wrong turn, the donkey broke a leg, there was a day long sand storm so we had to stay in a cave, and it was terrifying being hunted by the Apaches. We ended up coming out of the hills north of Temecula, walked south in the midday sun along the highway to the Lawrence Welk Resort where they gave us water and bread. The Hertz Rental Car representative showed up for work, we rented a nice air conditioned sedan and drove the rest of the way home where we stopped off at the Tennis Club in La Jolla and enjoyed a marvy four course lunch complete with expensive white wine.
