mr mark, the MS update announced itself as soon as my pc had booted this morning. I clicked to allow download. There was never an indication it had finished, though. To be sure I'll go to the Windows update page anyway.

PS: the win update site showed two critical updates available. I downloaded and installed [quite slow]. I won't rely on the 'automatic' update any more.
