this isn't really a charity complaint but here is my 2 cents. When I was working in Louisiana, I was forced to join the laborers union to hold my job. Each week a chunk of my paycheck went to the union dues. Supposedly for retirement purposes (mostly). However get this:

This was the lowest of the unions. When you pick your speciality, ironworker, carpenter, etc you switch to a different union. my union was basically unskilled laborers. How many people do you know stay unskilled laborers their whole life? Usually you pick your field of speciality and switch to that union.

to sum it all up, since i never did get to retire as an unskilled laborer, probably that money went directly into someone else's pocket. You should see the limos the union bosses travel around in...
