Looks like it time to go to the history to re-learn how the people that profited from the Great Depression did so. I don't have the illusion that the White House controls the economy, but the leadership has a tremendous influence on confidence, and any stock trader will tell you that's what it's all about. The country took a serious blow to it's confidence on 9/11, and I thought the President responded well, going after Al Qiada in Afghanistan. Then, he co-opted the support for his Iraq adventure - destroying citizen and business confidence. Not good.
