The Post is really pushing this story. Yes they are. With no real foundation. It has been common knowledge that Tenet wants to quit, and that he and Bush are "Best Buds." Nothing new here. The real thing being done, by both the Post and the Times, is that they are looking for a "hook" to hang the investigation on so they keep the story going every day on the front page. That's what sells papers and wins Pulitzers. To reinforce this view, I saw Pincus on early morning CSPAN talking about the story and how it was playing around the country. He was clearly excited about it. It was obvious he hopes that he and Priest will be the new "Woodward and Bernstein." Said he had just got back from Chicago and they really didn't understand the story. That he needed to write more about it and be clearer.
