I think what makes OUR situation in Iraq different then the Soviet situation in Afghanistan is that in our case we are BEHIND THE PEOPLE not against them. In time we will have assisted the Iraqi's in establishing their OWN GOVERNMENT and THEIR OWN security forces which will handle the situation. Remember, despite what you might read in the SENSATIONALISM JOURNALISM the VAST MAJORITY of normal, lawabiding Iraqi's are grateful that we freed them from Tyranny and are giving them the opportunity to govern themselves. What we need here is PATIENCE but sadly the MEDIA doesnt SELL NEWS with PATIENCE. jdn
