Where has this Si Computer Learning thread gone?
Larry,
I'am also a member of iHub, and also read the board: Investors Hub - Computer Learning located in the: Free Zone | Support Forums | Computer Learning where a FREE membership allows limited postings.
While I agree with the replies addressed to your post, being that this thread goes wherever those who post take it, I do believe you have an issue that has a partial solution.
(part of your post follows) "...the old spirit of the thread which covered many subjects. It was great to post or lurk on this thread and read of the many computer issues that were discussed, not just the latest updates of protective programs... Perhaps a new thread should be started that focuses on computer protection. Larry"
While I do agree with others that this thread not change, my opinion is that "its gonna get worst before it gets better" if the trend of more and powerful hacker attacks continue.
One solution has already been done by me on iHub that may cover some of the areas not being covered and discussed as in the past they would generate some chatter when security issues did not take most of the posting effort. By this I mean general none technical items in the nature of using programs available as shareware, or stuff like hardware add-ons rather than the "I have a problem..." stuff.
Currently the new board I made on iHub only has me posting on it, but it is available for anyone to post new information, or to do what I hope it will, generate topics for discussions on the using of our pc for education and enjoyment.
Investors Hub - Computer Articles (pcNews) Free Zone | Support Forums | Computer Articles (pcNews) investorshub.com
While many Silicon Investor members here have no intentions of joining iHub, even as a FREE member, they might now do so just to access this board to engage in easy going non-problem type discussions of just using their pc and to discuss any trends mentioned in the news articles.
I have chopped up article so that each post covers only one item.
If the iHub FREE membership allows the Search this Board, then its an easy way to research past posts for specifics.
Bottom Line: :o) That person "the cow" might "have a Simpson cow" if he or she feels that I may take away some traffic from COMPUTER LEARNING.
