Many people have many connections in many directions (think of the 6-degrees of separation). The issue is not if Saddam had a connection to AQ or would have wanted to see US burn to the ground. The relevant questions are (a) how much of a threat Saddam's support was and (b) did we counter it in the best way possible.

The United States has supported many terrorist groups...errr...freedom fighters...against other governments. Do you then find it justifiable for those countries to bomb US because we provided refuge to their opposition?
