i thought xom had been in the sakalin islands for quite awhile. maybe just now they are making noise about it (spending the cash). i don't know where else in russia xom plans to spend a ton of money.

not clear if you were asking a question about how to invest in russia, but there are quite a number of russian oil and ng companies that have adr's on the nyse. lukoil and gazprom come to mind. i don't own them at this time.
