I cannot comment on Prospect magazine as I have never heard of them and thus am unfamiliar with their ability to judge what is the best course of action to take. However, it has never been my experience to learn that ignoring a problem will cause it to go away. One comment they make about tribal conflicts seems as though it may have merit but my answer to that is that we must INSIST on a Constitution that protects the rights of all citizens and they must be made to believe in it.
As to the UN, recent events have proven to me the UN powerless to do much in a situation such as exists in Iraq. One or two bombings and they cut and run. To allow a small minority and even more so that minority made up of fanatics from OUTSIDE of Iraq to allow the PEOPLE of Iraq to continue to be subjegated by terrorists just ISNT THE AMERICAN OR BRITISH WAY. jdn
