Now this is what interests me...an analyst and advisory firm that goes against the rest of the street and just about says....FU guys, this is my call.

10/06/03 10:23 am EDT... UPDATE S&P REITERATES SELL RECOMMENDATION ON MOTOROLA SHARES (<MOT> 13.21*): MOT announces plans to spin off semiconductor products business as a separately traded company. In its 9 a.m. conference call MOT shared few details, however, pending an S-1 filing. The company is mulling the IPO of a part of the unit and the distribution of the rest to shareholders in a tax-free transaction. We believe MOT is targeting a spin-off now in attempt to capture favorable valuation of semiconductor firms amid an unfolding up-cycle. With stock above our 12-month target price of $7, based on discounted cash flow and price/sales analyses, sell. /K.Leon, M.Graham Hackett
