I believe CA is currently spending around $8500 per student k-12. Hi, DM. Welcome aboard! Assume for the moment that your number is right, and it sounds close. That means a 30 student class room cost 255K per year. Deduct the teacher with bennies at 75k, and you have an overhead of 180K per year per classroom. It becomes pretty obvious where the money is going.
