without doubt in my mind, (as far as highway speeds go), lift that speed limit, you can not possibly stay awake cruising on a highway at a ridiculous 75 mph (particularly with the technology available of today's machines)...

120 plus mph is perfectly safe cruising speed and believe me you will be awake...


this i just don't know about...i think the problem is that there a drivers who are unsafe at any speed, so by lowering the speed limit for *all* you reduce the carnage that is done by the few...

so yes, it's the dumbing down or over-regulating the majority for the excess of driving madness of the extreme minority...

there's no question that the higher the speed, the less your reaction time...

(not all of us are finally honed race car driving *machines* <g>)

i suppose i can live with that
