Ambivalence, But Not For Arnold Monday, Oct 06, 2003; 6:42 PM
Voters in western Los Angeles County seem to have a lot of ambivalence about the candidates in tomorrow's election.
Another voter in Santa Monica, who would identify herself only as Amber, said she "didn't like anybody." She's considering voting against McClintock, even though she considers herself a die-hard Democrat.
She said she's disgusted with Davis's performance in office. "The car thing, that was really excessive," she said of the car tax that recently tripled. "The illegal alien thing, that was really bad, too," she said of Davis's support of a new law allowing illegal aliens to get drivers licenses in California.
But make no mistake, some candidates do have their die-hard supporters. At a Schwarzenegger rally in Orange County's Huntington Beach, a couple of thousand people showed up, according to washingtonpost.com's Dan Jung.
Jodi Logsdon, 46, of Laguna Nigel, said she wasn't concerned about the allegations against Schwarzenegger. Asked if she thought the allegations were untrue, she said, "I think they were probably valid, but he apologized."
She said that the women who came forward with claims against Schwarzenegger were "hand chosen. They must have been in the back pocket for some time."
