DENVER, Oct 7, 2003 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ --
Air Methods Corporation
(Nasdaq: AIRM) today announced its Products Division has received FAA
Supplemental Type Certification (STC) for its Emergency Medical Interior for
the Eurocopter AS350 B2 and B3 A-Star helicopters.
The AS350 A-Star is a single engine helicopter capable of transporting one
patient and up to three medical attendants. Air Methods currently operates
39 AS350 aircraft throughout the United States, and over 80 EMS equipped
A-Star helicopters are currently flying nationwide.
The first AS350B aircraft with this certified interior was delivered to
Regional Emergency Medical Services Authority (REMSA) in Reno, Nevada. This
aircraft joins two other AS350B3 helicopters now in operation with REMSA.
"This FAA certification further strengthens our line of products for the
Eurocopter series of aircraft," according to Arthur Torwirt, Vice President of
Air Methods Products Division. "This approval greatly increases the
marketability of our A-Star EMS Interior, which we will now be able to provide
to customers throughout the world."
