ViaSat Awarded Follow-On Production Order and Network Services Contract By ARINC for SKYLink Executive Aircraft Broadband Tuesday October 7, 8:00 am ET
CARLSBAD, Calif., Oct. 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- ViaSat Inc. (Nasdaq: VSAT - News) has received a follow-on delivery order from ARINC for additional production quantities of the SKYLink(SM) Airborne Integrated Satellite Communication Terminal. In addition the two companies signed a 3-year contract for ViaSat to provide network operations services to ARINC. The total value of the contracts is approximately $8.5 million. (Logo: newscom.com ) Recent flight tests have demonstrated that SKYLink can reliably deliver in-flight, two-way, broadband data to aircraft at rates from 256,000 bps to 3.5 Mbps, providing performance similar to high-speed Internet connections and corporate networks found in modern offices. The technology also increases the possibilities for multimedia and other bandwidth hungry applications for business jet travelers.
