Hardee's Signs Agreement with National Processing Company

LOUISVILLE, Ky., Oct. 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- National Processing Company, LLC (NPC)®, a leading provider of merchant credit and debit card processing and a wholly owned subsidiary of National Processing, Inc. (NYSE: NAP), announced the signing of a multi-year credit card processing agreement with Hardee's Food Systems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of CKE Restaurants (NYSE: CKR - News). Per the agreement, NPC will provide authorization and settlement services for VISA® and MasterCard® transactions accepted at all corporate-owned Hardee's locations and participating franchise locations.
Hardee's owns and operates a system of more than 2,100 company and franchise-owned Quick-Service Restaurants (QSRs) in 31 states and 11 foreign countries. A leader in the quick-service breakfast business for 25 years, Hardee's has recently introduced a new lunch and dinner menu centered around Thickburgers. The 1/3-, 1/2- and 2/3-pound charbroiled Angus beef burgers are intended to position Hardee's as the premium burger specialist among quick- service restaurants.
