The Ultimate Beach Party, scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 30, will be the start of a weekend- long series of festivities culminating with the first day of races at Colonial Downs, Virginia's first and only pari-mutuel horse racing facility. "Colonial Downs is very excited about our kick-off celebration," Peterson said. "It is a wonderful opportunity for families to come out, see the racecourse, and have a great time." The Beach Party celebration is the first of several Pepsi Concert Series events at Colonial Downs. The Beach Party will feature several bands including the Embers, the Platters, the Association and Little River Band. The event takes place at the Colonial Downs Amphitheater, nestled in the heart of its beautiful 345-acre facility in rural Virginia. Gates open at 11 a.m., and music begins at 1 p.m. The $25 Ultimate Beach Party admission package includes: _ A barbecue lunch _ Admission to the concert, and _ A ticket to opening day at Colonial Downs. The $10 Beach Party admission includes: _ Admission to the concert only. Tickets are on sale now and available statewide at all Ticketmaster locations.
