Thanks. The momentum for development of compact antennas, smart antenna systems, MIMO and advanced signal processing methods has picked up and is likely to continue to accelerate over the next few years. Many areas of development dovetail into this: Microwave MEMs to switch signals of antenna arrays and multi-mode and multi spectrum radios. Low cost high frequency/low power/low noise IC process technologies including SiGe and other SOI, copper interconnect, low K materials. New high frequency films that can be used in semi and circuit board manufacture. High efficiency integrated power supply and conversion. Electronic antennas that mimic much larger physical world equivalents and are electronically alterable.

The fertile field being created by the momentum of 'WiFi' will help commercialize these new technologies that take large quantity production to make them feasible.
