Carl,
You tried to cajole me into looking at both sides.

Let me encourage you to stand back, take a deep breath, and consider all sides.

Please do not become completely consumed over a coupla firefights...there are hundreds of them worldwide everyday.

Humans have been killing humans since Cain and Able. The death of humans...even thousands of humans does not mean that change is imminent or that withdrawal is the best course of action.

I am certain you know that.

Using a single firefight or two to justify a massive withdrawal or any other action including a broader attack is highly unusual...and generally not acceptable tactics.

We have to able to reason deeper than three lives because 10,000 Americans die everyday in America and 5 Americans are murdered every week in Washington DC (about the same as Iraq). 1 million cars are stolen in America every year.

You cannot rattle Americans with minor death and crime statistics...we have grown cold to small numbers.
