More and more it seems to me that the technology for voice recognition, home control, PC/TV, entertainment center, video phone, blah, blah, are all available, with the systems power that can run them, but no company is putting this all together in one package and marketing it as a user friendly true *home* PC. The rush to develope the technology is much faster than move to implement it, get it in the users hands. The industry, IMHO, needs some first class marketing companies at this point. The Compaqs, Dells, IBM's are not experienced as consumer companies (their priority has allways been business technology), and don't know how to bring finished products to market. Unfortunate, maybe the Sony's and Toshiba's of the world will eventually dominate the home market as they understand what drives the consumer.
I'll share what I find out about those companies. Really do appreciate the references.
