RBOC competitors slide on appeals transfer (T, TALK, ZTEL, IDT, VZ, SBC, BLS) By Tomi Kilgore NEW YORK (CBS.MW) -- Charles Schwab's Paul Glenchur said Tuesday's transfer of the appeal of the Federal Communications Commission's new network sharing rules from the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals to the D.C. Among the competitors, AT&T (T) slipped 20 cents to $21.35, Talk America (TALK) slumped 73 cents to $10.73, Z-Tel Technologies (ZTEL) shed 18 cents to $2.17 and IDT Corp. (IDT) slid 6 cents to $18. "The D.C. Circuit is perceived to as likely to be more hostile to the FCC unbundling approach than other appellate courts," Glenchur said in a note to clients. Among RBOCs, Verizon (VZ) added 22 cents to $32.66, SBC Communications (SBC) edged up 4 cents to $22.29 and BellSouth (BLS) gained 46 cents to $24.14. |
