No you are wrong. I definitely do, once the conflict has been defined. The mojo scenario was a total provocation. Creating the original conflict is essential to having a meaningful debate. My mistake is in misjudging the character of people. When provoked, some people would rather just kick your butt and win at butt kicking (in which case seeking common ground is a lost cause), than spend time fretting over the meaning of the conflict.
