"THIS IS A NATION OF ECONOMIC IDIOTS, AT ALL LEVELS"
I agree, but also feel that even those who understand what they do, do it anyway because the nation's leaders and upper class (politicians, bankers, brokers, CEOs, judges, attorneys, etc. etc. etc.) have become totally selfish. Not all are morons, but they only think of themselves. No one seems to consider future generations. Heck, some don't even consider their own children -- another reason why divorce is so readily jumped at today -- sometimes good reasons, but like abortion and economic policies, about 80% of the time it is done out of convenience and selfishness. Same as running up the credit cards and loans. Attitude is, "If it does not work out, I'll just screw everyone I owe money to." There is much more to the parallel rising of the rates in divorce, bankruptcy, corporate crime, etc. It speaks of the nation's heart, and that is where all empires eventually lose it. They go from sacrifice for the good of others to selfishness, even to the detriment of others. And the leaders in gov't know this weakness, and they will exploit it when another terrorist tragedy occurs to move ever closer to a dictator.
I remain,
