Of course, it's only because the bugs are attracted to the "glittering shine" of what they believe is gold that they are caught. No different from catching fish with a torch. The fish believe the torch is the moon --- until they end up in the net. Then they don't know what the Hell happened. The goldbugs, however, are more fortunate than the fish. There is a story waiting for them. They will be told that the Fed and the Plunge Protection Team and the bullion banks and J P Morgan and Goldman Sachs & Co have "suppressed" the gold price, yet again. Bastards!
