I am happy to report I worked to close down Trojan. It took nearly 18 years to do it, but finally PGE, after insuring that they can pass off all their costs for decommissioning on the rate-payers, closed it down on their own initiative (after a vote to close it down and force the company and shareholders to foot the bill failed). Three cheers for Eric in saying " I'd really like to see all the hydro plants we can safely remove disappear". Those powerhouses can be retrofitted to be "run of the river" operations with flood gates to maintain river levels when necessary. FYI: removedams.org len
