RS, you need to be more skeptical instead of believing all the rhetoric, the PR and the unending barrage of media. The truth is that it's a bell curve with the radicals on both sides at the edges but with everyone else mixed up in between.

The politicians are in it for their own self aggrandizement and will do whatever it takes to get in. Lies? Fake apologies? Coverups? It was a big deal a few decades ago but the public has become innoculated against scandal.

The reality is that people are in it for their own self interests. Sometimes those self interests coincide with the public good and sometimes they don't. I don't care if Gray or Arnold is governor of California. I was very much disturbed by the mechanism of the election (not the recall) that might have put someone into office with 10% of the vote. I'm glad that didn't happen in practice but the mechanism still blows.

You need to think for yourself Rich.
