I think that you're in trouble in California. Recall elections such as you have in CA, seem reckless to me. They set a bad precedent, in that anyone, even in the minority, can when they want bring the cost and chaos of a recall election to the whole of the state.

While this is an indictment of Davis, and the poor job he did as governor, it's more than that too. I expect that if Arnold does not do his job well, or if there are more Bimbo eruptions, that another recall could follow.

I'm for having a normal political process. With ample time for the candidates to emerge, issues to be discussed and platforms developed. Then the voter can make an informed decision.

I am for a recall election in the case where a crime is committed, that would be the only situation which I feel warrants such a drastic measure.

There is no way that Arnold would have been elected in a normal election. I say that because I don't think he would have survived the republican primary process. He was able to become governor because of the chaos and circus like atmosphere that surrounded the recall. The other mainstream republican candidates dropped out when it became apparent that the star power of Arnold would outshine even the republican challengers.
