I didn't expect a serious question in response to my cheer-leading! But, FWIW, this did not seem like a forced merger to me, but rather one of focus. Safeguard management had these two similar-sounding companies in egghead fields and probably could not keep them straight, let alone give each of them a compelling story. So, by merging them, you have one strong company with clients and a potential IPO.

Also, both are working with data-intensive companies, providing real-time analytics and decision support. I don't think the industry is as relevant as the tools and services they provide.

That's my two cents. We'll see. Are you still in SFE?
