I don't understand these comments. Perhaps you could explain them?

If he lays off 50,000 people that has to be a lot more than 200 million in savings. That would only be $4000 per person laid off. Even if you meant 5,000 people (hence $40,000 per person), that does not take into account pension and benefit costs. And laying off only 5,000 people would leave the total state payroll at more than 47,000 (nearly 20 percent) higher than when Davis took office:

Davis (as I indicated to you with citation to the actual numbers as supplied by the California state government) increased payrolls by more than 40,000 in five years. That's not spin. It's fact. He has not "already" gotten rid of those people, has he?
