He verified signatures? That's what he did? All he said in his article, I believe, is that he chatted officials up over tea.

He was in Iraq in 1990 and in Gabon and Sao Tome afterward till his retirement in 1998. So he must have been ambassador to Niger back in the '80's. So his personal knowledge of Niger officials must have been a little dated.

How likely is it Wilson would learn anything by traveling to Niger, visiting people's offices and chatting over tea? Frankly, presenting this as an investigation just means the CIA has no human intelligence capability. We have satellites and can monitor the internet and international telephone calls, but that's it.

So how can anyone know there was any lie about Niger? For all we know the Brits know more about places like Niger than the CIA does.
