Re: "I thought your rationale for spending the $87 billion was the rationale of a libertarian. Forgive me for the blunder....NOT!"

Blunder? YES! 'Tis ad hominem and presumptuous to suggest I'd only say what I first know is approved by some political party. In point of fact, my point of view is the rationale of a Libertarian, me. Many Libertarians agree, others don't(at least according to MY Libertarian readings, how about yours?). A Libertarian follows his mind, not a party approved line.

Re: "whether the conservative hawks despise Hitler or not, similarities do exist if one is willing to look. And as for the hawks' dislike, its not unusual for humans to despise those traits in others that are very similar to their own."

If you are aware of WWII, and believe there is a useful scrap of truth in your theory above, you are plainly missing the crux of the matter, IMHO.

Re: "There you go again......trying to get me to do what you want. Are you sure you're a liberatarian?"

Like everyone in America, Libertarians are allowed to attempt to persuade others by mentioning such things as "the stark reality of what such men fight for. You need to realize this, IMHO, and quit thinking republicans fit into the mold of some virtually non-existent radical racist minority which holds Hitler as an esteemed member!" It is my belief that this in not an inaccurate representation of your I think ludicrous comparison of Republicans to Hitler.

Re: "Racism may be an ancillary trait of American conservatives that may or may not correlate with Hitler's overt ethnic hatreds but it hardly gets to the core of the issue."

Let me say this: Racism may be an ancillary trait of American Liberal Democrats that may or may not correlate with Hitler's overt ethnic hatreds but it hardly gets to the core of the issue. Certainly I can't begin to list the Democrats I've encountered who outwardly have no use for "niggers." It really isn't a party/pretty issue, down in the grass roots, IMO.

Re: "I thought you said you were a libertarian. I was suggesting that there may be similarities between Republican/conservatives and Hitler, not liberatarians. Do you secretly consider yourself a Rep and/or a conservative?

You made a derogatory association between Libertarians and conservatives earlier, hence, the above is a trash misrepresentation of the discussion, but you thought right to recall I said I was a Libertarian.

Re: "Eventually, Arnold and libertarians and GW will be consigned to some back office shelf..."

LOL.

Re: "The concept of a complex, modern nation without gov't is a facile and somewhat hilarious thought"

Yes, and not one conservatives nor Libertarians dream about, in point of fact. Contrary to popular belief and as hard as it may be for you to realize, Libertarians don't feel they need any more anarchy in their lives. They'd much prefer well ordered government and justice.

As time goes on and truth and experience will out, the masses will realize that freedom indeed works best, but with your help it'll take a lot longer than a few years. Rest assured that someday a bill of rights to protect the awesome power of the people themselves, will truly rule some great country, and then a world of free people.
