Yes Motorola probably should have manufacture
GSM infrasctrure, like Nortel. It makes sense to make
money on both technology.
I haven't read the article, but I know David Lasier a little bit.
He came from Bellsouth, which will implement GSM. And he
is not a true independent consultant, he plan to be (and tried
to be) a carrier some day. A carrier is very biased on
technology selection.
I would not worry about Ericssion or Qualcomm's claim
on CDMA capacity gain over AMPS. CDMA may start out
with the same number with GSM. But CDMA will have greater
potential to increase its capacity gain.
