It will be interesting to see what price PCS will offer it at.

PCS is pricing the device at $599, with rebates available for new subs ranging from $100-150 off. Current treo users can qualify for a $200 discount when purchasing (without any carrier committment) from their website.

.. at least some [GPRS] devices allow the capability to force voice receive or redirect in the middle of a data session. I didn't realize that was not the case with 1xRTT on PCS.

Thanks for your response. Looks like the GSM version may be the way to go, as far as being notified of incoming calls during data transmission. Do you know if caller ID is available when so notified? PCS definitely sends callers to voicemail if the device is actively transmitting data (up or download) at the moment the call is received. Callers get routed immediately after a single ring, leading them to think that your phone is powered off, or off-network. You do receive a voicemail notification as soon as your data transmission has ceased. Incidentally, this has not been a huge problem for myself, because although i do consider myself a heavy data user, i find that the bulk of a browsing or email reading session does not involve actively transmitting (unless sending of photos is involved).

SMS on PCS would be most welcome.
