Sam, you are right...very simplistic...My point being that
US companies have been built by driven visionary capitalists
who had extremely strong convictions and provided decisive
leadership.....they didn't let obstacles detour their plans
to be successful. It is very easy for most CEO's to float
along wherever the tide takes them while laying off employees and still getting mega buck bonuses while the
company is struggling... Contrarily, outstanding CEO's are
like a good general fighting a war...they are creative,
decisive, bold, tactical, and strong willed..... they provide strong leadership to overcome obstacles that are in
their path to win each battle with minimal losses and
maximum gain.
IMO, Grove could be such a CEO, but he must lead by example
and be a role model for other CEO's to emulate. BB
