Yes terrorism is a problem. And Saddam ruled Iraq by using "terror" to keep his people in fear. But Saddam was not involved in the work of Al Qaeda and 9-11.

9-11 was used as justification for the war. The fear of imminent danger from WMD was used as justification. And these reasons were used to sell the war on terror being widened to include Iraq.

But they were not the reasons that Bush and his administration had for getting rid of Saddam. There was a completely different set of reasons. These reasons existed all the way back for three administrations, and more. The war on Iraq was being actively planned for and reasoned for a decade before 9-11 and bin Laden's terror strikes.

Bush only used 9-11 as the justification. Like a carney using the shell game, he switched the reasons and used slight of hand to make the American congress and people to think that Saddam was somehow involved.

Not true at all.
