No one has suggested carte blanche. I have even reiterated over and over that not only does the claim of conscience have to be shown to be sincere, but that even then, the state may assert a compelling interest, and over- ride conscience anyway. The legislature does not have the means to take into account every possible contingency, and some things may naturally arise in the courts. But venue is not even my principal interest at this point. I find it too odd not to laugh that purported libertarians, such as you and Chris, are taking such statist positions. I am not even a libertarian, and usually find myself defending the prerogatives of the state against libertarians, but I can see that if the state does not have strict scruples about inconsiderately and ham handedly overriding the imperatives of individual conscience, we may as well look forward to the degradation of all liberty concerns........
