He is not making the claim as a masseur

Of course he is making his claim as a masseur. We must have a moral principle and a situation. The masseur is the salient element of the situation. Were he in some other line of work, there would be no claim.

And I submit that, if of all the people in the country who hold this particular moral principle, only one is a masseur, there's smoke there.
