I agree with your assessment that this virtually acknowledges that Rove et al DID speak to the press about Plame's identity. Their defense will likely be that they did not believe they were breaking the law. They'll have to convince the authorities that they believed that Plame was a CIA analyst, and not an agent. Shameful evasion by McClellan, but that's his job. I'll bet Ari is laughing his ass off right about now, having jumped from this burning ship in the nick of time...
