I agree.

In my case, they put three screws in my shoulder and inititially my insurance company balked at paying in network fees because of the referal and would only pay for, get this 10 visits... After 10 visits to the therapist my range of motions was.... 30 percent.

I now understand what they were balking at, but nobody told me that I was paying 3X what the prevailing cost was.

Bear in mind now, PT was only only a fraction of the total bill... 11 K for surgery.... Network negotiated....

My insurance treats PT's and chiropractors as the same, and my chiropractor bills what I view as fair and he's probably taking in around 3-500 an hour after you add in new patients and X-rays. I don't view that as being excessive. But there are guys out there who are ripping the system treating a lot fewer patients.

I'll also tell you, I never ever thought that I would be this bitter about it and I never ever thought it would happen to me.

I think it's gonna suck when we get to the point that when you go in to see the doctor you're gonna need a lawyer to get treatment.
