Hearing loss and dementia. I have heard Rush raving a few times about "liberals" when he sounded like he was talking about orcs, goblins and monsters of the id. His dementia may have infected millions and encouraged more and more hate-mongering. Most real liberals are actually decent, honest, patriotic, strong, straight people. To demonize them the way Rush did was not only unfair it was outrageously nutty, sick and IMHO even evil. Now we have a possible explanation.
