Andrew Sullivan gets "Imminent" with "Frontline" again.

All this word parsing. Much worse than the meaning of "is." Which, given the circumstances, was a very clever response.

It's about as clear as can be that the Bush folk tried to sell the invasion as the result of an imminent threat. That was necesary to make the case for an invasion in the spring rather than the following fall; to make the case against more time for the inspectors; to justify going without UNSC approval; etc.

To pin it to the lack of specific words is an unusual act of desperation on Sullivan's part.
