Sexual thoughts are not practically detectable by anyone except the person who is thinking them. Sexual thoughts occur intermittently and at frequent intervals for normal human beings. This is what being a normal sexual human being is. To never have sexual thoughts would be considered abnormal by most of us. It would be an impossible and cruel task to try to control whether or not people are having sexual thoughts.
Arousal (being turned-on) goes beyond having a sexual thought and should be detectable by a trained massage therapist, as you indicated earlier. The therapist should also be trained and competent in adequately responding to the situation in a manner that redirects or dispels the energy, so that the session can follow a non-sexualized course and the massage concludes in its healthy purpose.
I am not a massage therapist or a psychologist but as laymen we should be able to agree that arousal has direction and that it goes beyond having had a passing sexual thought. I haven’t heard of individuals that get aroused by fantasizing about their own sexual attraction. So, the common conception is that arousal with its earliest stages being some sort of fantasy has an object to which it is directed.
It is true that a heterosexual man could be thinking about his girlfriend while on mojo’s massage table and as a result become aroused even to the extent that he would display an erection. It would probably be rare but Mojo, or the client, should be able to tolerate and deal with that kind of awkward moment.
Mojo is able to control his impulses. He does not foresee an event where he is jumping some attractive female on his table. Since he is also well trained, he does not foresee a female getting carried away with her attraction to him to the point where there is sexual interaction between the two. However, he is also a normal man and can imagine the types of women who could spark his interest.
Mojo is also a conservative individual and believes that it is wrong to look on a woman or touch a woman with lustful fantasies running through his mind, or to put a woman in a situation where she would be prone to fantasizing about him personally. He recognizes that people tend to fantasize about each other in daily life or perhaps in other massage parlors and that he has no responsibility for that. He is responsible for what occurs on his table and the likely hood of him putting individuals who are having a passing fantasy about him or visa versa him having a passing fantasy about a client goes against his conscience.
If he were to have a passing fantasy seeing someone on the street, he might avert his eyes. Or if the walker on the street is fantasizing about someone including him he has no responsibility for the situation or their response to it.
The same ethic applies to homosexual men, except that he does not imagine himself at risk of fantasizing about a homosexual client. He would feel responsible if a homosexual man became turned-on to him during the intimate parts of the massage treatment.
Since there is a large population of individuals who are comfortable with his conservative approach, he has no problem finding clients and clients seek him out do to the confidence that is front loaded in his service delivery via his belief statement.
Since, a huge erotic industry operates in parallel to this it is not out side of normal reason to expect erotic notions to present themselves in this setting. |
