Reply 366 (DirectX 5.0) confirms that DirectConnect is not owned by Microsoft. The question is whether this is a patentable product and whether this is being positioned as an industry standard seamless (gaming) peripheral hot connect established by Thrustmaster. Perhaps a friendly engineer from TMSR would come on this thread for this one occasion and a much appreciated visit. On the other hand DirectConnect still appears to be highly proprietary and confidential and may be a forthcoming press release.
