Art, I do not believe that the "sensor" is defective. The problem is that there is not enough supply to meet demand which is causing shortages. At this juncture, I really don't see the "sensor" issue as a big deal to either SanDisk or Lexar since I believe camera phones do not use external flash memory. I could be wrong, of course. As camera phones become more advanced, I do see that as a competitive threat to both Lexar and SanDisk since one will not have to store the picture using flash memory. Instead, after taking the picture, the user could transmit it to an email address, etc. for storage.
