I do not believe that the "sensor" is defective. The problem is that there is not enough supply to meet demand which is causing shortages. At this juncture, I really don't see the "sensor" issue as a big deal to either SanDisk or Lexar since I believe camera phones do not use external flash memory. I could be wrong, of course.

As camera phones become more advanced, I do see that as a competitive threat to both Lexar and SanDisk since one will not *have* to store the picture using flash memory. Instead, after taking the picture, the user could transmit it to an email address, etc. for storage.
