Maybe, maybe, he'll learn the definition of compassion. Maybe he will have an epiphany, and realize that 80% of folks are neither conservative or liberal, that we make up our minds on each, individual issue, and that most of us just want to get along with each other. That the "conservatives" and "liberals" are marketing a self serving agenda, that has nothing to do with a citizens personal reality. John, do you really think that's true? I used to think that. I thought people in this country fell mostly in the center of the political spectrum. I am less inclined to believe that now. I also used to think that I was an independent but no longer. That's no longer true. Maybe I was a political neophyte but the 2000 election was a wakeup call for me. It made me realize how badly conservatives want to win. It made me realize that their vision of this country is not what I was taught growing up. Events since then have reinforced those feelings. I wonder if we are coming to a time when neutral/independent will no longer be possible. ted
