Just journalism finding its mission after losing it with an overreaction

Journalism has much ground to recover after its belly-up surrender to authority following 9-11.

So many topics merit investigation:

* The many anomalies of 9-11 including newly discovered footage of the North Tower impact
* The fact that senior govt officials were taking Cipro a week before the anthrax scare
* The heavily-spun and hyped intel emanating from the special Pentagon intel group (why was this group even in existence?)
* The Iraq invasion profiteers, including no-bid contracts awarded PRIOR to the invasion
* The bizarro-world antics of Poindexter (is he really gone, or just moved underground with new names for his unbelievable projects?)
* The Plame affair
* The odious PATRIOT ACT

These are just off the top of my head...I'm sure there are more.

Considering the Bush admin having so much to hide, it is no wonder rightist partisans are hoping against, if not actively opposing, investigations.

Investigative journalism seems to be our only hope these days of checking extremism in govt, especially considering the demise of an active opposition party.
