Arnold got away with it because a lot of voters in California think like most of us here on the right.
True to a certain extent. Where I am (SF Bay Area), I'm an endangered species.

And I'd agree with fl that there still may be a disastrous train wreck ahead in spite of Arnold's best efforts. Lots of spending requirements have been stuffed into the state constitution via initiative, reducing flexibility, and he has to deal with a Democratic legislature that so far has demonstrated the self control of a 3-year-old in a temper tantrum.
